| Who is Karl Bergmann? |

I was
born and raised in the San Lorenzo Valley, attending local public
schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. I went to San Jose
State to earn my degree in Business Administration. I currently
work as a certified public accountant, working with big corporations
in the Silicon Valley, and individuals and business owners in
the San Lorenzo Valley. I am dedicated to serving the community
in which I live.
My wife, Marlise, also grew up in the San Lorenzo
Valley. We have three young children, two of whom are in local
elementary schools. (Our youngest daughter is a year old.) There
is no better motivator, in my mind, to make the right decisions
for our local schools, than to have children in those schools
and your family firmly rooted in the community. Having young
children, I am committed to ensuring an excellent public education
system for both the short and long term.
My mother and father also live in the San Lorenzo
Valley, and my mother was a well-respected teacher in SLVUSD
schools for 15 years. My parents instilled in me a tremendous
respect for quality public education.
I stand for innovative ideas, strategic planning,
fiscal integrity, open communication, and teambuilding with teachers,
parents, and the community to provide excellent public education
for our local children.
